You will need a subscription to use our Lineup Optimizer tool for DFS leagues and weekly lineups.  For info how to use the Lineup Optimizer for DFS leagues, see here.  A FFA Insider subscription will also give you the ability to save unlimited custom settings.  You will also get access to download historical projections and to examine the accuracy of historical projections.

As a part of your monthly subscription, you will be given given access to deeper insights and highly customizable rankings tailored to daily salaries and be at the forefront as we look to add new content and functionality.  FFA Insider is a year-round service to give you access to these tools throughout the year, including the offseason, so you can continue to prepare for next season using our rich historical data (dating back to 2008).

In summary, here are some of the benefits of an FFA Insider subscription:

    Thanks!! Love the tool!

Thanks for reading! The premium account will allow you to use our Lineup Optimizer tool for setting lineups to DFS leagues as well as helping pick the highest scoring line-up for any given week in a seasonal league. We will be posting another article detailing this new tool as soon as we have weekly data available.

Corrected: You will be able to look at weekly projections through the projections app as well as scrape using the R package. Weekly optimized lineups will only be available to FFA Insider subscribers.

I was excited to purchase a subscription for this until the lineup optimizer died three picks into my auction last night! No matter the browser or number of reloads kept getting “unexpected error occurred while loading data”. Thankfully I did have some back up plans to fall back to, but was very disappointed. I hadn’t had a single issue through mock auctions until my actual paid auction came along 🙁

Sean, we apologize sincerely for the inconvenience. Our current server is having some difficulty handling traffic during peak hours. As we mentioned, it’s one of the main issues we’re looking to use subscription proceeds to correct. We recommend downloading our projections to use as a back up for live drafts.

    • Sean Putman-Labbe says:
      September 2, 2016 at 3:39 pm

I assumed that this had been the issue. I had downloaded the projections and that was part of the back up plans I fell back to. Unfortunately there is reasonable replacement option for using the lineup optimizer to highlight which players to target during an auction, and this is where you find the best value from your products. If you’re unable to handle peak hours and money leagues are really only drafting at peak hours it leaves next year as the earliest point I can hope to use it. Too much interest in a product is a great issue to have, until it makes the product unusable during a very limited window such as FF draft season. Hopefully you will find great success with daily leagues, but I am not a fan of them.

I have a question: I’m trying to sort for week 1 projections but as of now, I can only set the projections and lineup optimizer at “full season” am I missing something obvious or do I need to pull the raw data and scrub it myself? Hey Isaac,

My league is debating whether or not we should re-instate the IDP position. I basically lobbied to have it removed last season since I felt like it was too difficult to predict, too much boom/bust and just generally felt like a very random source of points that only decreased the amount of skill in the game.

Have you done any analysis of IDP positions (DL, DB, LB) to determine whether there is any truth to this sentiment? I believe it is a common critique of the IDP position but I can’t find a statistical analysis to back it up. I know you’ve done analysis on weekly variability of different stat categories, wonder if you could do the same with sacks, tackles, interceptions, forced fumbles etc?

Thanks man, your analysis is worth every cent!

    Riley

Yes, IDP positions are less predictable than most offensive positions but are actually more predictable than DST and K. So I guess it depends on your league’s goal. For info how to examine the accuracy of projections by position, see here:

      Hi Tim,

You were probably looking at projections for Week 1. Weekly projections do not include VOR, ADP, or ECR Rank. If you change to seasonal projections you should see those.

For weekly projections, it would really help to have FanDuel / DK salary info populated, since at this point AAV, ADP is useless when we are looking at scoring settings for DFS. Or, make the tables in the lineup optimizer downloadable.

Just signed up for the paid service; a few questions:

    1) Can I somehow save my league scoring settings vs. having to reenter them every time I want to get projections?

    2) What is the best method to see who to start per week per your aggregated projections? Can I somehow ‘save a roster’ so that it essentially racks and stacks for me? Or do I have to compare all the players manually?

    3) There is a modifier for points allowed for DST, but what about yards allowed?

I really enjoy your projections and very much enjoy using it as a tool in my research. As a suggestion, perhaps you can set it up to automatically pull at a certain time each day so it is updated daily and reflects injury news more accurately. For instance, it is 10/1, but the last update shows 9/29. The little injury news is helpful especially for finding value and the injury reports come out on Friday. In the https://fantasyfootballanalytics.net/about-the-site/faq#weeklyWhen link, it suggests that you update daily.

I use the PlayerID when working with downloaded weekly projections in R. i noticed some players have the same ID which can cause havoc with scripts. Here is an example.

2531332 null Terrelle Pryor WR CLE
2531332 null Terrelle Pryor QB CLE

For players that play multiple positions, we provide a row for each position, because their position rank and VOR differs for each position.

I have tried the free app a few times and have used the trouble shooting tips from the help page, but the app does not save my custom league settings. Also, it shows often shows other user’s email addresses in the “Signed in as:” box at the top of the page. Is this the normal operation of the free app? Why is it showing other user’s email addresses? Does it only store custom league settings in the paid version?

I can’t even find the place to pull FanDuel prices so they reflect on the players. Do we need to adjust actual price for each player we pick? Also, under general settings, I can’t seem to pick week 1 for the season. Is that available yet? Also, when using the Lineup Analyzer, using DraftKings scoring, I click on the “Select Column” button. In the menu, I attempt to click on the last two buttons (Sleeper and Pts/$), but they do not respond. Having the Pts/$ available would be huge!

Hey guys, great site. Just subscribed as an insider. I’m using my own optimization algorithm for DFS, but I’d love to export your Lineup Optimizer data for a given week into a CSV that has the Draft Kings/FanDuel specific scores and salaries. My optimizer would then use this data. How can I do this?

I see how I can export on the projections site, but it doesn’t seem like I can export the DK and FD specific scores and salaries out of that spreadsheet. Conversely, if I go to the lineup optimizer, all of the data appears to be there and used by your optimizer, but I cannot export it.

So my question is, how can I export the Lineup Optimizer raw data into a csv? Many thanks and keep up the great work. Apologies if this question has been asked before – if so I missed it.

Hey Val – To follow up – When I go to the “Projections” tab of the app, and I go to “League Settings” up top, the only scoring settings that are available are then following: FFAnalytics, ESPN, Half PPR, MFL Draft, NFL, PPR, and Yahoo. These persist even if I have the lineups set to week 2 (not season). I can get the option for Draft Kings/Fan Duel league settings only in the Lineup Optimizer, which does not appear to have a raw csv export. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?

I keep getting a strange error when trying to select draftkings lineup. Michael Thomas appears twice.
Also, I still cannot figure out what the purpose of clicking “pick” is supposed to do.
Or, what the “other players drafted” means or is supposed to do.
Are there some better instructions as to how to use the lineup optimizer?

“Users can customize their tiers by changing the Cohens d thresholds in the app (under “General Settings”). If you want more players in the same tier (i.e., fewer tiers), make the threshold values larger. If you want fewer players in the same tier (i.e., more tiers), make the threshold values smaller.”

If I change the settings in one of the leagues and hit “save,” the changes are not saved the next time I log in. We aren’t able to reproduce. Please provide the specific steps you’re taking, making sure to follow the instructions here:
      https://fantasyfootballanalytics.net/2017/08/introducing-saving-custom-settings.html

Are you clicking “Save Custom Settings” or just “Save Settings” on the league setting dialog? The latter does not create a custom setting and will revert to default upon return. You will need to save custom Settings in order to be able to recall those from the league setting menu.

If it’s still not working, please provide the info we request in order to be able to reproduce:

    1. What app do I then use on a weekly basis? I think it is lineup optimizer.
    2. Are there resources on how to use the app weekly? If it is lineup optimizer I guess I am not clear on how to evaluate who to start/sit/pickup to replace a current player I have. The league is through yahoo
    3. I have used the custom league settings. When I add players to my roster in the lineup optimizer and then hit save, the app gives me a message “disconnected from server” and nothing gets saved.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Salaries in the week 4 optimizer do not match those on DraftKings!

Do you have rest of the season rankings?

Hi, big fan of yours. I was just wondering when you guys would be uploading your new rankings for this upcoming year. I use them for all my fantasy leagues.

Is the server down? Love this site but it’s not allowing me to join FFA Insider or connect to any of the apps. I tried on multiple computers and multiple time today to make sure it wasn’t on my end but still just getting a “Disconnected from the Server” message.

Hi Issac, I’m currently having issues accessing the server for 2020 week 17 data. I’ve worked through all of the FAQ error steps and have tried on multiple devices and browsers. Is the app currently down? And is there any estimate when it will be back up?

Is the lineup optimizer suppose to work with my season-long leagues?

Hello Cassie and thank you for taking the time to post on our site. The best place to find projections is through our projections tab.

I am in a league that only counts TD’s and points scored by place kickers. Will the projections provided by your paid subscription include that information for the weekly matchups as well as for the remainder of the season?

Is this website even currently active? All the front page results are from 2022
